Development of construction materials from welding slag waste

The general objective of this project is to study the possibility of reusing the slag-waste generated during the submerged arc welding (SAW) process in the manufacture of asphalt mixes and concrete. According to the results obtained, these welding wastes have pozzolanic activity. Their incorporation in the manufacture of bituminous mixtures and concrete improves the strength, cohesion and durability of these materials.

Project Financed by virtue of the order of 13 December 2018, of the president of the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness, announcing the awarding of grants to companies for R&D and innovation projects for the financial year 2019.

The project is financed by a non-repayable grant with funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) at a rate of 50% through the ERDF Operational Programme of the Comunitat Valenciana 2014-2020. The ERDF aid will be calculated by multiplying the eligible expenditure of the operation by the co-financing rate of 50%.
